June 12 Update
We’re in our wedding month everyone! Trés excited to see you all so soon.
We are hoping to send updates once a week until the wedding to keep you all in the loop. Please add any questions you have in the comment section! We do read them and will start commenting back.
Ok, on to the updates.
#1 – The timeline for the day is more or less set in stone:
2pm : Ceremony at Tea Swamp Park
2:30-3:30pm : Mosey to John Rogers Park
3:30-5:30pm : Bevvies, snacks, games, and merriment at John Rogers Park
5-5:30pm : Arrive at La Fabrique St-George
5:30pm : Toast to bride & groom
6pm : Dinner served
~7pm : Let the fun begin! Slideshow, trivia (start studying!), & other fun things
IF it decides to rain that day, the timeline will look a little different:
3pm : ceremony at Tea Swamp Park
3:30-4:30pm : Mosey to La Fabrique St-George – yes, in the rain
4:30-5pm : Charcuterie, drinks, and merriment
5pm : Dinner Live Experience begins
5:30pm : Toast to bride & groom
6pm : Dinner served
~7pm : Let the fun begin!
#2 – Heads up! We are asking everyone to share what their wishes are for us on our wedding day and our future together as a family. The first opportunity will be at the ceremony in a “call & answer” style, for those of you who are comfortable sharing in front of everyone. The second opportunity will be at the dinner venue, in a private video guest book message. Or you could do both!
#3 – No gifts please. We have spent months, no – YEARS – , reducing our “stuff” footprint and truly don’t need much. Just having everyone we love in one place is enough for us! We know a lot of you have sacrificed a lot to join in our special day.
#4 – Dress comfortably – whatever that means to you. Our wedding is meant to be non-traditional, so wear what you like. Break tradition! Wear black, wear pink, wear white, if you dare.
Things to keep in mind in planning your outfit for the day:
- there is the invitation for everyone to walk with us down Main Street, so about 1.5km of walking (downhill)
- seating at the ceremony and John Rogers Park will largely be on blankets on the ground (with some chairs provided for those who are not comfortable sitting on the ground)
- It could rain, but let’s worry about that closer to the wedding
#5 – We hinted at a sundae bar for dessert, and we will have to take that back. Sorry kids! We have something else planned that requires next to zero effort on our part – keeping it simple!
#6 – We will be sending out a questionnaire this week, hopefully. Please have fun with it, and do it as soon as you can – it will help us in planning certain parts of the day. THANK YOU in advance.
